Services
Search, evidence, lodgement, recovery.
A claim is only as strong as the evidence behind it. Here is exactly what we do at each stage, and what we need from you.
Search & identification
Most self-service searches fail for a simple reason: they only test one version of a name. We search every version that has ever applied to you.
- Current and previous legal names
- Maiden and married names
- Former residential addresses
- Companies and trading names
- Trusts and previous trustees
- Deregistered and related entities
You get a plain answer at the end of this stage: either there is something held in your name, or there is not. If there is not, we say so and there is nothing further to pay.
Evidence & documentation
This is where claims are won or lost. Authorities will not release funds on assertion alone; they need a documented line from the money to you.
Identity
Certified identification, and where a name has changed, the marriage certificate, deed poll or change-of-name record that bridges the two.
Entitlement
Proof the funds are actually yours: account records, correspondence, statements or the original transaction trail.
Corporate chain
ASIC extracts, constitutions and officeholder records establishing who is entitled to act for the entity, including after deregistration.
Authority to act
Trust deeds and deeds of appointment, or grant of probate and letters of administration where an estate is involved.
Lodgement & recovery
We lodge with the correct authority, in the correct form, and then we stay with it. Claims commonly stall because a request for further information goes unanswered. That does not happen on our watch.
Correct forms, completed properly. Each state and territory, plus ASIC and AFSA, uses its own claim forms with its own requirements for individuals, companies and trusts. Getting the right form to the right body is half the job.
We field the follow-up questions. Requests for additional evidence come back to us, and we deal with them.
You are kept informed. You will know where the claim sits without having to chase us for it.
Claim types
Five claim types, each with its own evidence burden.
Individual claims
The most common and usually the fastest. Complexity rises when the name on the record no longer matches your identification.
Company claims
Requires proof of who may act for the entity. Where the company has been deregistered, additional steps apply before funds can be released.
Trust claims
Turns on the trust deed and every deed of appointment since. A trustee change in the intervening years is the usual sticking point.
Deceased estates
Handled with the executor or administrator, and requires grant of probate or letters of administration alongside the usual entitlement evidence.
Bankruptcy & insolvency claims (AFSA)
The one most people never think to check. Where a bankruptcy, personal insolvency agreement or debt agreement leaves money undistributed, the trustee pays it to the Commonwealth and AFSA holds it. Former bankrupts and their creditors can both be entitled. These funds appear on no state register, so a search that stops at the states and ASIC will never find them.
Getting started
What we need from you to begin.
Less than you would expect. To run the initial search we only need names. No identity documents are required until there is an actual claim to lodge.
-
Your full name history
Current legal name plus every previous name, including maiden names.
-
Any associated entities
Companies, trusts, partnerships or joint ventures you are or were connected to.
-
Previous addresses, if known
Helpful for matching records, but not essential to start.
-
Then we take over
We run the search and come back to you with what we find.
Start with a search. See what comes back.
No obligation, and no cost to find out whether there is anything held in your name.
